Fraud rings have new trick of disguising themselves as Tainan Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency. Pre-recorded voice message is used on telephone to collect payment from citizens and probe for personal information by false inquiry of overdue tax payments. We urge all citizens to keep alert to such fraud.
Recently Tainan Branch of Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice has received reports from general public, advising that they have received computer-telephony messages for overdue tax payment collection from Tainan Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice: “You have overdue tax payment which should be paid within 3 days, or your property will be sealed up by the court for auction. For more information please press 9; our representative is standing by.” When a phone recipient pressed 9, a person appeared on the other end of the line, who claimed that the recipient has overdue balance on land tax, house tax, income tax, or vehicle fuel fee, and demanded immediate payment followed by inquiry of name, ID card number, company name, and other information in the name of checking for other overdue tax payments.
According to Tainan Branch, the Branch does not collect overdue payment through pre-recorded telephone messages. If there is any doubt about the claim of execution document, general public may visit the Branch’s website, dial 104 for directory of the telephone number of the Branch, or simply call the operator of the Branch directly at (06) 2134322. Do not believe rumors or be terrified by compulsory execution and render payment or release personal information without any verification.
